In a continued effort to strengthen its operational sustainability and expand regional partnerships, STEP Iraq participated in a comprehensive fundraising training and a regional networking event in Erbil, represented by Country Director Rahem Amin and Deputy Country Director Nazim Othman. The events, which took place from May 17 to May 19, 2026, were facilitated under the broader framework of the Pathways to Peace (P2P) project.

The three-day capacity-building initiative was jointly organized by the Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) and People in Need (PIN). The sessions were designed to equip participating civil society organizations with advanced fundraising strategies, critical resource mobilization skills, and the tools necessary to sustain their community-driven initiatives.

Coinciding with the intensive training, STEP Iraq representatives have also participated in a concurrent Regional Networking Event held in the same period. This forum provided a vital platform for local and regional actors to exchange best practices, foster cross-organizational collaboration, and align their efforts toward sustainable peacebuilding and development across the region.
